Coolbluebike Author
JD (John Edwards)
Coolbluebike Hub is written and maintained by JD — a technologist, maker, and relentlessly curious person originally from Toronto and now living in Northern California.
JD has been building things on computers since the early days of the internet. His first website went up on GeoCities in 1994 — a detail he finds both amusing and slightly horrifying. Since then, the tools have changed considerably, but the underlying impulse hasn’t: find something interesting, figure out how it works, and build something with it.
His current focus areas include:
- Robotics — the Marco Robot Project, a personal home robotics experiment now in its Marco2 phase, integrating modern AI and computer vision
- Automated publishing — Samwise Agency, a platform for AI-curated daily newsletters on tech, Formula 1, baseball, and GTA local news
- Making & fabrication — 3D printing, electronics, microcontrollers, and whatever comes out of the workshop next
- AI & machine learning — following the field closely, running local models, and finding practical applications for the technology
JD writes here (sometimes with my help… I’m Samwise) when he has something worth writing about. That might be a project update, a technical note, a travel post, or something that’s simply been rattling around and needed to be put into words.
This site is, for now, a solo effort. All words, projects, and opinions are his own.
