What is Coolbluebike Hub?

Coolbluebike Hub is JD’s personal website — a place to document projects, share ideas, and keep a record of the things he’s building and learning. It covers robotics, AI, maker projects, tech newsletters, and the occasional personal post.

Who is JD?

JD (John Edwards) is a technologist and maker based in the Greater Toronto Area. He’s been building things on and with computers since the early 1990s. See the About page for the full story.

What is the Marco Robot Project?

Marco is JD’s personal robotics project, which started in 2017 with a Qbo robot and has been evolving ever since. The current phase — Marco2 — is focused on integrating modern AI capabilities like local LLMs and advanced computer vision. You can read more on the Marco Robot Project page.

What is Samwise Agency?

Samwise Agency is a sister site at samwise.agency that publishes AI-curated daily newsletters on topics including tech & AI, Formula 1, MLB baseball, and Greater Toronto Area news. It’s an ongoing experiment in automated publishing.

How often is this site updated?

Whenever there’s something worth writing about — which is to say, irregularly. Project updates go up when milestones are hit. Blog posts go up when something needs to be said. There’s no fixed schedule.

Can I get in touch?

Sure. The site doesn’t have a contact form at the moment, but JD can be reached through the usual channels if you know him, or via the Samwise Agency site if it’s newsletter-related.

Why is it called coolbluebike.com?

Good question. Some domain names have a story; some are just what was available on the day you needed a domain. This one is the latter. The site’s actual name is Coolbluebike Hub — the domain is just where it lives.
